A show about resilience, mental health and well-being for Year 7 & 8s

“TO THE EDGE OF THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS”
A show by Peepolykus Theatre Company & Partners Theatre Company.
Inspired by Jules Verne’s Around the World in 80 Days, a show that takes Phileas Fogg and Passepartout on an alternative journey that follows their progress through new territories. Their experience challenges their resilience and the explorers learn the importance of caring for mental health and how all emotions can have a positive value.
The show is aimed at Years 7/8 and provides an entertaining opportunity to deliver learning outcomes on strategies for maintaining personal well-being.
Peepolykus are a successful Bristol based Theatre Company, famed for their comic prowess whilst tackling difficult themes. Peepolykus are working in collaboration with Partners who are a company of disabled actors based at the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon. Each performance is followed by a feedback session to discuss themes in the show.
Comment from Teacher during 2019 tour; “The show was instructive on the need to accept emotions and learn how to manage them. Production values were very high and it was consistently funny which meant students stayed engaged throughout. The follow up work we did in class considered topics which ranged from the importance of both physical and mental well-being to inclusivity and difference. It provoked a lot of ideas. ”
Booking 28th September –9th October 2020. Show and feedback session are finished in 50 minutes. Company need two hours to set up and two hours to clear out. The company can do two shows and a workshop in one day. £100 per show for Wiltshire Schools.
