Emotional Wellbeing Voice Champion Survey (Secondary schools)

Friday 24th January 2025

Following the outcomes of Wiltshire’s Children and Young People’s Emotional Wellbeing Survey 2024, the Voice and Participation Service, in collaboration with Public Health Wiltshire, have created an exciting new opportunity for your secondary school;

• Enabling school aged young people to have the chance to share their reflections on the findings of the survey and showcase their ideas on how to help improve and promote positive mental health in Wiltshire.
• Young people whose ideas are shortlisted will have the opportunity to work alongside the Child and Youth Voice Team and Wiltshire Youth Council to pitch their ideas at an emotional wellbeing stakeholder event in March 2025.

How to get involved:
We are asking schools to share the video by Wiltshire Youth Council’s secretary (click here) with pupils along with the Emotional Wellbeing Voice Champion Survey (click
here - Secondary School Right Choice log in required to access) to invite young people to share their feedback and creative ideas in response to
the survey findings.

The survey will close on 7th February 2025 – in line with Children’s Mental Health Week.

If a young person from your school is shortlisted, a member of the Child and Youth Voice Team will be in touch to make the school aware.

Opportunities for your school:
• Contribute to meaningful projects in the health and wellbeing space in your school.
• Improve your student's awareness of the challenges children and young people face regarding their emotional wellbeing.
• Participating schools can evidence this as part of their Wiltshire Healthy Schools applications. For more details on Wiltshire Healthy Schools click here.
• The school demonstrating the highest level of student engagement will be publicly celebrated for its strong commitment to championing youth voice.

Both Wiltshire Youth Council and the Child and Youth Voice Team at Wiltshire Council are very excited to be promoting this event and cannot wait to see what ideas your students can come up with.
