‘Drop in’ webinar recordings
showcasing the resources available on Food – a fact of life for different age groups
A recent series of ‘Drop in’ webinars to provide quick 30-minute tours of the free food teaching resources for different age phases. The recordings of these webinars for early years practitioners, those working with learners who have additional needs, and primary and secondary teachers, are now available online. The drop in webinars are a great way to find out about the range of resources available for teaching different age groups about food.
Primary food lead essentials pack (Primary teachers)
The Primary food lead essentials pack is a collection of resources, and support, curated from the Food - a fact of life website, designed to support high quality food teaching across the primary school age-phase. The pack is intended for those who lead, coordinate or have responsibility for food teaching across the whole of primary school. However, anyone teaching food in primary will be able to find useful advice and resources in this online pack.
Sustainable healthy food (11-14 years)
The first batch of resources for teaching about sustainable, healthy diets have been launched! The resources comprise a comprehensive presentation for pupils aged 11-14 years covering the main factors that make up a sustainable healthy diet, such as nutrition and health, environmental impact, affordability, accessibility, and three 'pick and mix' activity sheets suggesting related tasks for learners to explore.
Sustainable food pack (11-14) (Resources for other age phases will be arriving soon!)
Science through the context of food (11-14 years)
A variety of carefully curated ‘packs’ (resources) designed to teach science through the context of food. The packs are presentations which provide information and stimulus for pupils about the particular principle, and then more detailed support for food and nutrition teachers and science teachers, along with links to resources to use in the classroom
