Free mental health training session for secondary schools

Time to Change are providing a free Training for Trainers session for Wiltshire secondary schools on Tuesday 27th June 2017 at Devizes School from 4pm -6pm.
Schools may send 2-4 members of staff.
Training for Trainers’ aims to equip staff with the knowledge and skills to better educate students about mental health stigma and discrimination. It is a ready to run session package which can then be delivered directly with your students. The session covers:
- Facts and figures about mental health problems
- Understanding the Mental Health Continuum
- Focus on common mental health issues affecting young people
- Testimony from a young person with lived experience of mental health problems.
- Mental health and language
- Tools for challenging stigma and discrimination
- Action planning – how to take this forward in your school
Each staff attendee will receive a resource pack, complete with USB stick containing all the PowerPoint slides and video clips used in the session as well as a folder of handouts, lesson plans, information fact sheets about mental health and other resources.
