Multi-agency drug awareness training from Motiv8

Motiv8 is a drug and alcohol support service for young people, funded by Wiltshire Council and run by Developing Health & Independence (DHI).
The organisation is now running a free online multi-agency course for professionals working with young people.
The course will cover the following:
- Background: Information about young people’s drug & alcohol use locally & nationally
- Emerging trends, the law, protective/risk factors and support services
- Drugs: types, street names, appearance, how taken, effects, risks, signs to look out for
- Supply: how drug supply has changed, social media, the dark web, county lines
- Alcohol: units, calories, effects on the body, risky behaviours, drink driving, Foetal Alcohol Sydrome
This course is suitable for education, health and social care staff, the police, charity workers and volunteers.
Electronic certificates can be provided post attendance.

This course may be useful for school staff supporting young people or for general drug awareness that can then be shared with other school staff.
It may also provide useful information for teachers delivering drug education, as part of PSHE education.
