Parental Relationship and Parenting Programmes

Monday 2nd October 2023

The following parenting programmes will be of particular relevance to Wiltshire schools.

Full details of these and other parenting courses can be found here

  • Being a Parent

A free 8-week programme for parents and carers of children aged from 2 -11 years. You can learn how to better understand your children's feelings, positive strategies to manage behaviour, effective parent-child communication and much more.

  • STOP Parenting Programme

A step-by-step course for parents with pre-teen or teenagers (10 to 16 years old). The STOP Programme also gives information on key parental concerns for this age group such as drugs, drink, sexual health and aggression in young people.

  • Triple P  - Positive Parenting Programme

An online parenting programme for parents/carers of children aged 5 to 12 years, but it doesn't tell you how to be a parent. It's more like a toolbox of ideas. You choose the strategies you need.

  • SWAPP - Autism Parent Programme

A partnership programme between parents and their child's setting or school that aims to build an understanding of autism and the challenges and delights it can present. The programme aims to empower families and staff who are closely involved in supporting a child or young person (aged 3-18) on the autistic spectrum.

  • Time Out for Parents - Children with Additional Needs

The programme aims to help support you in meeting your child's needs, focusing on children aged between 3 to 16 years with additional or special needs.
