Raising Aspirations events in Swindon
Thursday 9th June 2022
Chameleon PDE are working with Swindon Borough Council to support the 'Raising Aspirations Project' across the local authority.
This is a direct response to the disrupted learning and interrupted social development as a result of Covid-19, which has left many young people feeling less confident about their future.
Wiltshire schools are also able to attend these events and although the primary events are now full, there are still places available at the secondary school event on 29th June.
The 29th is for secondary school (Year 9/10/11 students) this day will focus primarily on career aspirations and introducing students to the opportunities local to them. We will also be running the following workshops:
- Start 9.30 – Welcome from Mayor & Robert Buckland MP (Robert's welcome will be via video)
- Workshop A: University challenges (a chance for pupils to ask university students about their uni/course/social life/budgeting)
- Workshop B: What’s the alternative? (mini talks on entrepreneurship, alternative routes to success, aspirational opportunities)
- Workshop C: Future jobs market & skills (find out more – prize)
- Closing comments & Menti evaluation
