Re:Fresh providing toiletry and sanitary products in Wiltshire schools
Thursday 6th June 2019
Re:Fresh is a schools based project that provides toiletry and sanitary items to children and young people in need.
the organisation is looking to partner with more Wiltshire schools.
It was established in 2015 in response to a growing awareness that many students were facing complex circumstances and challenges which meant they were not fully supported in areas of personal hygiene and self care.
It was discovered that by providing a simple bag of toiletries young people were empowered to take control and care for themselves. The bags are completely free for the schools.
Partnerships have already been established with several primary and secondary schools in Wiltshire and Somerset.
In the first year of this project 250 bags were given to students across these areas.
Toiletry bags are discretely accessed by students normally through pastoral staff working in a school or college.
