Sign up for free online mental health learning

Staff who work with young people can now sign up to receive information about a new weekly programme of online learning here.   

This will form part of the new Wiltshire School Mental Health Network, developed by the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust.

More information on these events next term, including face to face events at local venues, during 2016 and 2017.

Proposed topics for online sessions include:

  • When should we be worried - warning signs and what to do next
  • Developing resilience and coping skills
  • Supportive listening (counselling) skills 
  • Responding to self harm incidents
  • Putting mental health on the agenda in your school
  • Preparing vulnerable pupils for school holidays
  • Supporting Mental Health issues with autism / ASD
  • Wellbeing and mental health policies and procedures that work
  • Developing a positive relationship with CAMHS
  • Breaking the cycle of unhelpful coping
  • Eating Disorders: supporting during mealtimes at school
  • Anxiety - supporting wellbeing in the run up to exams
  • Peer mentoring
  • Depression and anxiety - supporting pupils to support themselves
  • Top tips for safety and sensitively teaching about mental health
  • Great story books for exploring sensitive issues and ideas for using them 
  • Making the most of your school counsellor
  • Retaining trust without promising confidentiality
  • Promoting wellbeing by becoming a more listening school
  • Supporting the wellbeing of looked after children
