Stand Up To Cancer this autumn
Monday 27th June 2016
Hundreds of schools have joined the fundraising movement for Stand Up To Cancer. Schools in Wiltshire can join them by ordering a free school fundraising pack at www.standuptocancer.org.uk/schools.
Brought to you by Cancer Research UK and Channel 4, Stand Up To Cancer is an annual fundraising campaign that has already raised over £25 million for translational cancer research. Stand Up To Cancer this Autumn will culminate in a live TV show on Channel 4 on Friday 21 October, when the biggest names in film, TV and music will lead the British public in taking a stand and accelerating the fight against cancer.
1 in 2 people will develop cancer at some point in their lifetime, but more people in the UK are surviving than ever before. And that’s down to one thing: money funding research. Now we need schools across the UK to raise funds to give cancer research the boost it needs, so that we can support the best research teams to develop new treatments more quickly and save more lives.
Order your free school fundraising pack today at www.standuptocancer.org.uk/schools. It’s packed full of fantastic fundraising ideas and materials, as well as specially developed curriculum-based resources to engage students in science, research and healthy living. It has all the information you need to let students, parents and fellow teachers know why Standing Up To Cancer is so important and to get them really excited about the life-saving impact their fundraising will have.
Below is The Cancer Fighters 2016 National Non Uniform Day Poster (click image to download); please feel free print this off and give to students and parents.
