The Princess and the FOG - from the CWMT Mental Health Book Club
Thursday 7th February 2019
The latest title in the CWMT Mental Health Book Club is going to be 'The Princess and the FOG' by LLoyd Jones.
“Once upon a time, there was a Princess. She had everything a little girl could ever want, and she was happy. That is, until the fog came.”
The Princess and the Fog conveys the experience of depression with clarity, empathy and gentle humour. Subtitled ‘A story for children with depression’, it is simple enough to engage children from a young age, even those temporarily living in the fog themselves; it will also charm adults into a better understanding of depression and the fact that it can affect us all, whatever our stage in life.
Captivatingly illustrated by the author, The Princess and the Fog will be valuable in helping teachers, parents and carers to support children with depression and low mood in feeling less alone in their fog, and in finding practical ways to deal with and dispel it whenever it descends.
Opt-in for this book will open on Monday 11 Feb 2019
