Wiltshire Art Competition - images of breastfeeding

Wiltshire’s vision is for breastfeeding to become the cultural norm in order that mothers and children can enjoy the associated emotional and physical health benefits.
This art competition is an opportunity for you to help raise the profile of breastfeeding in Wiltshire using the art style of your choice. Whether through drawing, painting, sculpture, photography or textile, we look forward to receiving your representation of breastfeeding. Entries can be submitted in one of the following categories.
- Category 1: Under 5's
- Category 2: 5-11s
- Category 3: 12-17 years
- Category 4: Adult amateur*
- Category 5: Adult professional**
*Adult amateur = practicing and exhibiting as a hobby or interest
**Adult professional = primary source of income is from their arts practice
Winners and runners-up will be notified by mid to late August 2014 and will be invited to a presentation event in September 2014. The winning entries will receive a prize, and their artwork together with runners-up will be exhibited in venues across Wiltshire.
Terms and conditions
- Artwork is to be a positive representation of breastfeeding, ideally a recent piece or artwork.
- Entries are limited to one per person
- Artwork is to be no bigger than one metre (if two dimensional) or one metre cubed (if three dimensional).
- Artwork is to be submitted ready to hang or display.
- Entrants must have a connection to Wiltshire - resident, studying or working in the county.
- Artwork will be kept for collection for a limited period if requested, however we cannot be held responsible for unintended loss or damage.
- Artwork will be judged on the following criteria taking age into consideration:
- Interpretation and the clarity of the theme to the viewer.
- Creativity and originality of the depicted theme.
- Quality of artistic composition and overall design based on the theme.
- Overall impression of the art. What is the effect of the artwork in general and as a whole?
- Overall, does the artwork stand on its own as a complete and outstanding work of art?
Submission of artwork
Artwork must be submitted by 31 July 2014 to your local children’s centre
Please make sure you submit your artwork with the following details:
- Name
- Age
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Entry category
- Connection with Wiltshire (resident/ studying/ working?)
- Name of children’s centre where you submit your artwork
- Whether you would like to collect your artwork when the competition is over or not?
