Public Health England (2014)
Vaccination School Resources
These resources are designed to promote vaccination among school children in the 10-15 age group, and form part of a wider initiative to increase the uptake of immunisation.
Lesson plans and associated resources can be used with children from Upper Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4, as part of PSHE Education or Science lessons.
The materials were developed by Dr Jane Shallcross (NADP Training, PHE Porton).
The toolkit was reviewed by the Novel and Dangerous Pathogens (NADP) Training Team and Public Health England (PHE). During development and trialling in schools, consultation was also undertaken with Amy Bird (Public Health) and Nick Bolton from Wiltshire Council.
A series of posters and leaflets also form part of this toolkit. These include a poster and leaflet aimed at secondary school pupils as well as a poster for primary schools and a leaflet for parents of primary school children.
Information provided is up to date as of June 2014. For the most up to date information on the current immunisation schedule, schools should visit http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/vaccinations/Pages/vaccination-schedule-age-checklist.aspx
Please send any feedback on the school resources to info@wiltshirehealthyschools.org
