PhunkyFoods (from 2024)

Public Health have been working with PhunkyFoods to deliver targeted school and community programmes which include a whole-school approach to healthier lifestyles and cooking sessions to children and young people and families of Wiltshire.

The PhunkyFoods Programme aims to help early years settings and primary schools to deliver a whole-school approach to healthy lifestyles and to engage with all pupils, and their families, in promoting tangible health behaviour changes in a fun, lively and positive manner.

One of the most popular programmes schools have been enjoying delivery is the Year 5 Phunky Ambassadors, the ambassadors have been taking the lead by choosing what and how they are going to delivery key messages to their peers.

Phunkyfoods is a great way to assist schools in the work they are already doing on the PhunkyFoods programme with the Healthy Schools programme!

Shrewton CE Primary School- Case Study

"We have observed that, by using children to become Ambassadors and spread the word, more children are engaging and willing to think more about their healthy habits. We have seen that the pupils who have taken on the role have become more active participants in their learning, and activities outside of the classroom, with a huge growth in confidence".
